Highway Guardrail Terminal End are the specially designed end pieces of a road safety barrier system. The leading terminal is on the end of the road safety barrier system that faces oncoming traffic and the trailing terminal is on the other end. Guardrail end terminals are designed to provide a soft gating impact to prevent the end rail from spearing an impacting vehicle. Terminals also introduce tensile and flexural strength necessary to ensure redirection performance of the length-of-need section. Because the road conditions differ and therefor the road guardrail end is divided into a variety of styles to accommodate different types of roads. Depending on the guardrail design, the guardrail end is generally divided into the following types: Fishtail End, Buffer End, Bullnose End, Anchor End, Bridge End, SKT End, etc.
The fishtail Guardrail Terminal end, is mainly refer to the European and American countries design concept, shape, like the fishtail, so called the fishtail end, also called end wing, it consists of the strip after punching and forming a molding, again through the surface hot galvanizing processing, has a simple, easy to assembly, anti-corrosion ability strong, can play the part of guide to the cars on the road and the collision effect, effectively prevent the accident vehicle out outside.The fishtail end is divided into two types of specifications and models with W beam and Thrie beam. W beam are used with W beam guardrail plate, and Thrie beam are used with Thrie beam guardrail plate.
Bull-nose Guardrail Terminal End generally used at the end of the road, play the role of guidance and impact prevention, it is made of strip steel stamping, after hot dip galvanized or hot spray treatment, the surface corrosion resistance is strong, as the end of the bullnose,installation is simple, construction is convenient. The bullnose end is widely used because it is easy to manufacture and install,and has better guiding function in the case of small collision Angle.
Bridge Guardrail Terminal End are mounted on road bends or median strips. SKT-SP Guardrail Terminal end is an energy-absorbing, tangent end terminal, designed to minimise the severity of impacts occurring at the end of the safety barrier system.Designed for attachment directly to w-beam guardrail, the SKT-SP is one of the world's leading end treatment solutions and is fully compliant to the requirements of NCHRP Report 350.The SKT-SP is available in two configurations. The compact 7.62m TL2 terminal is an economical solution where the posted speed is less than or equal to 70km/h. The standard 15.24m TL3 terminal is acceptable for all posted speeds greater than 70km/h.
